Over on Margaret Roach’s beautiful blog Away to Garden, she celebrates the season by spotlighting produce and the different ways to use it. Fall Fest 2010 is in full swing and guess what this week’s feature is…you guessed it, PUMPKINS!
It’s a great way for food bloggers and pumpkin-lovers alike to share recipes, get ideas, and support each others’ adventures in the kitchen. Everyone’s encouraged to post their own tips and strategies in the comments and spread the pumpkin love. I’ve already gotten inspired several times over with new ways to use this trusty gourd. Did someone say pumpkin gnocchi? Yes please.
The Cooking Channel blog Devour also has a great string of recipes and ideas that incorporate pumpkins and their fellow squash counterparts in different capacities from soup to flan (If only I got the Cooking Channel..damn you Time Warner!) Obviously, featuring pumpkin during the month of October isn’t a revolutionary concept, but it’s nice to know how many people are enthused by it and ready to think outside the jack-o-lantern!
