Lime Berry Tart

You know what’s awesome? Lime sugar. I know, right? Sounds delicious. It’s just sugar blended with lime zest. Simple, sweet, and citrusy. It’s also the foundation of the lip-smacking lime berry tart I made for a dinner party this weekend.

I feel like you could use this magical concoction for a plethora of different sweet treats — like rimming margarita classes or sprinkling on citrus-infused creme brulee. Here it’s the basis of the lime curd filling that supported a layer of tart, fresh blackberries and blueberries. A tart tart!

This fruity beauty was a result of a Franken-recipe I created by combining Ina’s recipe for Lemon Curd with a Bon App recipe for the Lime Tart with Blackberries and Blueberries that provided the initial inspiration. Not only do the dark berries make a gorgeous color contrast from the bright lime curd filling, but the flavors are kind of amazing.
